About Apt

Specialists in the built environment, not generalists with a database

Apt Talent Solutions was founded in 2023 after ten years inside recruitment, internally and agency-side, watching what the right hire does for a contract, and what the wrong one costs.

Founder's note

Why Apt exists

Recruitment in Facilities Management had become a volume game. Engineers were being sold roles that didn't exist as described, and hiring managers were sifting CVs at 9pm because nobody had read the brief properly.

Our ethos goes beyond traditional recruitment. We see ourselves as the link that connects ambitions with the right roles, facilitators of growth, and a trusted partner in the middle of a job that matters to both sides.

Facilities Management is a small world built on reputations. That works in our favour, because it forces us to be straight with people. If an engineer isn't right for a site, we say so. If a budget won't attract the calibre of person needed, we say that too, with the market data to back it up.

Mission

The direct link to growth

Connect building services professionals with long-term roles through honest communication and a deep understanding of the M&E sector.

Vision

The sector's most trusted partner

Prove that recruitment in the built environment can be straightforward, direct and effective, and become the first name mentioned when a high-stakes contract needs a reliable workforce.

Purpose

Meaningful matches for growth

Every building services professional deserves a role that reflects their skill and fuels their progression. The sector only thrives when people are in the right seats.

How we operate

Five values that survive a bad week

These aren't wall posters. They're the rules we work to when a contract mobilises in three weeks and the engineer market is tight.

01

Earned Partnership

Trust is not given; it is earned through delivering excellent service consistently. We act as a reliable link between long-term ambitions and the right roles, personally, not from a script.

02

Apt Alignment

We reject the scattergun approach. Precision over volume: every engineer or manager presented meets the specific M&E or FM brief without exception.

03

Direct Technicality

We give honest feedback and realistic market data. We won't sugar-coat a candidate-short market, and we won't sell an engineer a dream that the site can't deliver.

04

Consistent Momentum

We own the pace. Delays get anticipated, feedback gets chased, and both sides know where they stand at every stage.

05

Pragmatic Craft

Relaxed but professional. We strip out the corporate language and talk about the human reality of the job, the site and the contract.

On the ground

Where those values get tested

Switch rooms, plant rooms and cold aisles, the environments our conversations are actually about.

Live electrical systems

Testing, inspection and switchgear work where a mistake takes a building offline.

Two site managers walking a commercial fit-out floor

Site leadership

Managers who hold the contract together, compliance, people and planned works.

Chilled water pipework and cooling pumps in a data centre plant room

Critical cooling

Data centre and critical environment plant where uptime is the only metric.

The people behind it

Small team. Direct line.

You deal with the people who take the brief, no account handlers, no handovers.

Joe built Apt around one idea: recruitment in the built environment works when the person on the phone actually understands the plant, the shift and the ticket. He leads across the full spread of the business, from Data Centres and critical environments to M&E Projects, FM and senior appointments.

Turn values into a shortlist

See how those values change what lands on your desk

The operating principles above are what produce a three-name shortlist instead of a stack of CVs. Our services page shows exactly where that knowledge runs deepest.

Two routes, one direct link

Pick your side of the table

Whether you are filling a gap on a contract or working out your next move, the first step is the same: an honest conversation about what is actually possible.
